New Puppy!!!

Welcome to the family Dozer!
Jenn and I were coming home from breakfast when we pulled into Walmart so Jenn could pick up some things to make a gift basket for one of her employees that was starting on Monday.
I should probably give a little background at this point. The Walmart in town is in an area that has a bunch of stuff including Lowes, Staples, Bennigan’s, Bob Evan’s, and a few other banks and restaurants. The parking lot area of this place is HUGE and there’s only about 3 entrances so people set up business stuff at the entrances. You can get your windshield repaired, your car washed, buy some flowers and plants and get a puppy (!?).
So we pull in a there’s a sign for Basset Hound puppies for sale. We’ve always wanted a puppy Basset Hound and we’ve been talking about getting another dog so we figured ‘What the hell’. The puppies were in an octogan-shaped kennel area (check out my Flickr pics to see all the puppies) and were all piled up sleeping on one another. Very cute and proves my addition to Murphy’s Law that states: “When looking at puppies, they will always be sleeping or docile. It won’t be until you get them home that they will turn into demons.”
I look at the puppies in the kennel sleep for a few minutes while Jenn talks to the breeder. Dozer wakes up, and then comes right over to me. He starts crying and climbing up the kennel wall so I pick him up. He proceeds to fall asleep in my arms as Jenn looks on. Game over.
It’s been a week and Dozer is doing great. He’s picking up the potty training very fast for an eight-week-old and he already knows his name. Now if he would just let me sleep…
